The Greek Air Force's post regarding C130 type cargo planes caused widespread protest in Turkey. The incident created particular sensitivity as it occurred after C130 crashes in which 20 Turkish soldiers were martyred.
According to reports, the institution faced a strong reaction from Turkey after publishing an image of C130 aircraft under the title “Photo of the Day”. Following the protests, the post was deleted, and a condolence message from the Greek General Staff addressed to Turkey was published.
Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a diplomatic note to Greece, calling the published post “unacceptable”. Official Ankara stated that the behavior displayed after such a sensitive incident was not in line with interstate relations.
