The Main State Traffic Police Department has warned traffic participants about the weather conditions.
This information was provided to the editorial office by the department.
It was noted that currently, strong, sometimes intensifying winds, as well as precipitation of varying intensity, are observed in several areas of the country, especially on the Absheron peninsula. The existing weather conditions significantly affect road traffic safety and create additional risks.
In this regard, the road police once again urges all traffic participants to be extremely careful and strictly adhere to traffic rules:
" - observe a safe speed regime appropriate for the weather and road conditions;
- maintain distance and lateral interval between vehicles;
- act cautiously during maneuvers, especially in strong winds and slippery road conditions;
- use lighting devices correctly.
At the same time, we inform you that pedestrians are in a more vulnerable situation in such weather conditions. Drivers are required to pay special attention in areas near pedestrian crossings, public transport stops, and residential areas. It is unacceptable to splash water on pedestrians when passing through flooded parts of the road, and such behavior creates danger."
The road police call on all traffic participants for mutual respect, responsibility, and caution. Adherence to rules and careful behavior is a crucial factor in preventing road traffic accidents in difficult weather conditions.
