Recent events in the field of technology, innovations affecting our daily lives, and forecasts for the future attract the attention of those interested in this area. This time, the news is about the new features WhatsApp offers to users and other technological innovations.
Redaksiya reports that WhatsApp continuously introduces innovations to improve user experience. With the latest update, the company is introducing a practical function that integrates memory space management into the chat screen. Users will no longer have to navigate through the settings menu to clean media files or find large files. This innovation saves users time and makes it easier to maintain chat order.
The new in-chat shortcut called "Manage Storage" provides direct access to media files. This feature was first tested in Android beta version 2.25.31.13. Now, it is gradually being rolled out to iOS users as well. With the update, users will see the "Manage Storage" option when they open the chat info screen. This new entry point offers the same functionality as the existing storage management tool located in the app settings, but in a more accessible location. Thus, users will be able to review and delete large media files within a specific chat, making it easier to keep conversations organized. The new interface also provides the ability to sort media files by criteria such as size, date, or type. Users can easily identify which files take up the most space by using filters like "Largest," "Newest," or "Oldest." Additionally, thanks to the bulk deletion function, unnecessary media content can be quickly removed.
Finally, the new feature has currently been rolled out to a limited number of iOS beta test users. Version 25.31.10.70, distributed via TestFlight, includes this new shortcut integrated into the chat info screen. WhatsApp plans to gradually expand the feature. It is expected to be included in the stable version after feedback.
