Cut-off scores for Group V to drop

On the eve of the graduation exams to be held this weekend, the results of previous stages have already revealed certain trends. In particular, the statistics of recent exams show an increase in the difficulty level of questions compared to previous years, which directly affects the overall results.

Education expert Ramin Nuraliyev, who commented on the matter to Modern.az, also noted that there is a significant decrease in the number of applicants scoring high marks, which suggests that the overall score range will drop:

"Overall observations show that as a result of the increased difficulty in graduation exams, there has been a downward trend in the scores obtained by applicants. For example, last year, the number of those who scored a maximum of 300 points in the first zone was 23 people, whereas this year, that figure is only 2 people. This difference is evident not only in the highest results but also in the 250-280 point range, indicating a downward shift in the overall statistical distribution."

According to him, in this context, the probability of a decrease in scores for Group V is also considered quite high:

"Considering that admission results in Group V are primarily based on graduation and aptitude exams, the difficulty in the graduation stage directly affects the final results. If the difficulty level of the block exams also remains the same as last year, a decrease of approximately 20-50 points in overall score indicators may be observed."

"However, there are other important factors affecting the final results. For example, the number of available places and the overall performance of applicants should also be taken into account. For a more accurate prediction, the disclosure of official statistical data by the State Examination Center will play a decisive role. The current situation suggests that a certain decrease in admission scores this year seems inevitable," he stated in his explanation.
