The effects of the war in Ukraine are also manifesting in the pharmaceutical sector. Access to medicines for the population has been severely restricted in some regions, further exacerbating the situation. In particular, a shortage of pharmacies is observed even in areas where the conflict is relatively calm.
Redaksiya reports that there are no pharmacy outlets in 905 settlements in Ukraine. The executive director stated this in an interview with the journal "Farmasevt Praktik". This complicates the population's access to medical services and essential medicines. Experts note that this problem stems from various reasons, including supply chain issues, the closure or destruction of pharmacies due to war conditions, and a shortage of pharmaceutical personnel.
Various measures are being taken by the government to rectify the situation. These include supporting the reopening of pharmacies, ensuring the delivery of medicines, and training pharmacists. However, the effectiveness of these measures is not yet sufficient, and the problem remains relevant. Ensuring the population's access to medicines is of vital importance in wartime conditions.
