US officials have put forward a new proposal regarding Turkey's participation in the international force planned to be established in Gaza. According to the proposal, Turkey's role in the process would be limited, and the deployment of a military contingent to Gaza is not envisioned.
According to Kan News, the plan involves Turkey providing only logistical support, with these activities to be carried out through bases located in Jordan and Egypt. This approach is aimed at preserving the delicate security balance in the region.
It was previously reported that Israel had appealed to the US administration, requesting that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan be excluded from the planned Peace Council. Israeli officials had stated their concern that the active participation of Turkish military personnel and Ankara in the reconstruction process could increase their influence in Gaza.
According to information published by The Jerusalem Post, US President Donald Trump made positive remarks about Turkey and Erdoğan, stating his trust in him. It is currently noted that a decision regarding the final composition of the international initiative has not yet been made.
