US President Donald Trump has made a series of striking statements regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He emphasized the importance of an immediate ceasefire in the region and stated that the US has not received thanks for the aid it has provided.
The editorial office reports that Trump said in his speech:
"I want a ceasefire in Gaza. From what we see on television, the children in Gaza look very hungry."
The President added that the US supports the hungry people in the region, but no gratitude is shown in return for this aid:
"We will feed the hungry people in Gaza, but someone needs to thank us. We gave $60 million and no one thanked us."
Trump also stated that Hamas does not want to hand over any prisoners, dead or alive, which further complicates peace negotiations.
Speaking about the US's influence on international conflicts, Trump added:
"If it weren't for us, six major wars would have started in the world today."
Touching upon relations with Russia, Trump stated that "I had given Putin 50 days. Now I will reduce that time."
According to experts, these statements could define a new tone for US policy in the Middle East and globally.
