The Azerbaijani President stated at the forum: "I did not predict Trump's victory. I simply said; considering that he shares fundamental values like ours, including family values, it would be better for the Azerbaijani people. He is the only US President who did not start any wars. It is also clear that he is a person who ended wars during his short time in power. We are also very grateful to him for his efforts to help Azerbaijan and Armenia ultimately reach an agreement. Despite dealing with more global issues concerning international security, he also keeps the situation in the South Caucasus in focus. Of course, his victory makes us very happy in Azerbaijan for several reasons. Naturally, we wish for him to finish his work, to drain the "Washington swamp" to its very bottom".
