The Israeli army announced the death of one of its soldiers during clashes in southern Lebanon.
The press service of the Israel Defense Forces (SAXAL) released information about this.
It was reported that 21-year-old Sergeant Ori Greenberg was killed during an operation in one of the border villages in southern Lebanon. The soldier, from the city of Petah Tikva, served in the elite reconnaissance unit of the "Golan" brigade.
According to the information, the incident occurred at night. Units of the "Sayyeret Golani" battalion came under targeted fire from armed groups while advancing towards one of the enemy strongholds. As a result, Greenberg was fatally wounded and died at the scene.
Two other Israeli soldiers were injured during the same incident. After receiving initial medical assistance, they were evacuated to Israeli territory and admitted to the hospital.
It is noted that the Israeli side accuses the "Hezbollah" group operating in southern Lebanon of launching strikes with rockets and drones into the country's territory. According to claims, the attacks are sometimes carried out from civilian homes.
Previously, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that his country's forces control the areas in southern Lebanon up to the Litani River. According to him, local residents will not be allowed to return until security is fully ensured in the region. (MOdern)
