A symposium dedicated to November 17 - International Prematurity Day was held at Yeni Klinika.
The symposium was attended by Anar Israfilov, Deputy Executive Director of TƏBİB; Nelli Veysova, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance; Barat Yusubov, Director of Yeni Klinika; Gulnar Nuriyeva, Head of the Reproductive Health and Family Planning Center; Rustam Huseynov, expert-specialist and neonatologist at the Ministry of Health; as well as medical specialists from various medical institutions and parents of premature babies.
Deputy Executive Director Anar Israfilov spoke, stating that the development of neonatology services in our country and measures taken to protect the health of premature babies are a priority.
Nelli Veysova noted that essential examinations required by newborns, including premature babies, as well as monitoring of maternal and fetal health, and laboratory and instrumental diagnostic procedures, are provided within the framework of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Services Package.
Barat Yusubov stated that the Neonatology Department of the medical institution has highly qualified doctors, experienced nurses, and resuscitation facilities equipped with modern medical equipment, and thanks to these capabilities, premature babies receive the highest level of medical care.
Rustam Huseynov noted that in addition to saving the lives of premature babies, keeping their future development in focus, early rehabilitation, and a multidisciplinary approach are of great importance.
Gulnar Nuriyeva expressed her deep gratitude to all employees of the Neonatology Department, stating that countless tiny hearts have achieved a healthy life thanks to their professionalism, attention, and endless dedication.
Akbar Guliyev, Head of the Neonatology Department, providing detailed information about the department's activities, noted that neonatology is a field that, above all, requires great patience, dedication, and compassion, while also necessitating the constant updating of knowledge and skills.
Within the framework of the event, plaques of appreciation were presented to everyone who supported the department's activities. At the same time, gifts were presented to premature babies receiving treatment in the department and their parents.
A children's dance ensemble performed in the artistic part of the symposium.
Subsequently, in the scientific part of the symposium, presentations were made by Vafa Hajiyeva, an employee of TƏBİB's Department for the Organization of Qualified Medical Services; Gulandam Abdullayeva, neonatologist at the Republican Perinatal Center; Tarana Rzayeva, nurse at Yeni Klinika's Neonatology Department; Konul Aliyeva and Jamila Ahmadova, neonatologists at Yeni Klinika; and Aydan Shahbazzade-Ahmadli, neonatologist at the Central Clinical Hospital.
During the speeches, extensive presentations were discussed on topics such as modern opportunities for premature babies in TƏBİB-affiliated institutions, the importance of neonatal care and key approaches in the treatment for the survival of premature babies, post-resuscitation follow-up and physical development of premature babies, the nurse's perspective – points to consider in the care and supervision of premature babies, and NRP training (Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol).
The interactive scientific session concluded with a question-and-answer session.
