US soldiers and civilians have been killed as a result of a terror attack that occurred in the territory of Syria. This incident has once again brought the security situation in the region to the forefront.
Redaksiya reports that the US Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, strongly condemned the terror attack. Barrack stated, "I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack against a joint US-Syrian government patrol in Syrian territory. We mourn the loss of three brave US soldiers and a civilian, and we wish a speedy recovery to the Syrian soldiers injured in the attack. We remain committed to defeating terrorism alongside our Syrian partners."
The incident occurred on December 13. According to a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM), two US soldiers and one US citizen were killed and three soldiers were injured in an ambush set by an ISIS militant acting alone in Syria. The assailant was killed during the ensuing firefight. Tom Barrack, the US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria, also emphasized their "strong condemnation" of the attack in a statement on X.
