Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Syrian President Ahmad Sharaa. At the end of the meeting, a Joint Communiqué was signed, providing for the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The editorial office reports that Zelenskyy called this step a significant historical milestone: “We welcome this important step and are ready to support the Syrian people on the path to stability.”
During the discussions, Ahmad Sharaa and Zelenskyy thoroughly discussed promising areas for the development of cooperation, security threats facing both countries, and issues related to their prevention.
Both leaders agreed that relations should be built on the principles of mutual respect and trust.
