Syrian President Ahmed Shara stated that Damascus intends to stay away from regional tensions and not pose a threat to neighboring countries, including Israel.
The editorial office reports that Ahmed Shara called the attack on the Presidential Palace “a message equivalent to a declaration of war” and emphasized that the Syrian government does not want to respond to such provocations.
The President also noted that entering into a military confrontation with Russia is not in Syria's interests. “Currently, clashing with Russia would be very costly for our country, both economically and politically. Our goal is to maintain stability and security,” Ahmed Shara stated.
