The activity of artificial intelligence-powered bots on the internet is rapidly expanding, raising new concerns in the field of digital security. These bots are no longer merely automated operations; they are also characterized by complex cyberattacks, fake interactions, and content theft.
The editorial office reports that, according to the “State of the Internet” report published by global cybersecurity company “Akamai Technologies”, AI bot traffic has increased by approximately 300 percent in the last year. According to the company, currently one out of every 100 bots recorded on platforms is controlled by artificial intelligence, and most attacks are directed towards the media and publishing sector. Exactly 63 percent of attacks target news and content producers.
Research shows that the next major target is the e-commerce sector. Over 25 billion bot requests were sent to online stores in just two months. Experts warn that the expansion of AI bots is forming a new phase of “digital invasion,” and in the coming years, content security, identification systems, and the protection of user data will be among the global agenda topics.
