British government leader Keir Starmer emphasized the necessity of continuing mutual cooperation for the country's economic and diplomatic interests, despite deepening security concerns regarding China.

As reported by the editorial office, Starmer stated in an interview with Reuters that a cautious yet pragmatic approach towards China is important. He noted that neither "golden age" nor "ice age" polarizing approaches are suitable for modern realities.

According to the Prime Minister, trade and cooperation with China cannot be completely abandoned, but the UK must strengthen its influence and risk mitigation mechanisms to ensure national security. Starmer added that London will strive to pursue economic partnership and strategic defense in parallel.
