Saudi Arabia's Midad Energy company has signed an agreement with the intention of acquiring all of LUKOIL's target foreign assets. The contract is assessed as a significant event in the international energy market and indicates that a preliminary agreement has been reached between the parties.

The editorial reports, citing Reuters, that the company has agreed to make the payment for the assets in cash, and the funds will be placed in a special escrow account until regulatory approvals are obtained. This mechanism is aimed at ensuring financial security until the transaction is fully legally confirmed.

According to information, on January 29, LUKOIL signed a preliminary agreement with the US investment fund Carlyle for the sale of Lukoil International GmbH. In addition, the company announced that it is also in negotiations with other potential buyers.

According to analysts, the participation of several potential buyers in the process could lead to an increase in the market value of the assets. These changes in the energy sector indicate the continuation of the global asset redistribution process under the influence of geopolitical and financial factors.
