A presentation of the book "The Eternal Song of a Journalist's Life," dedicated to the memory of Maharram Ibrahimov, who fought on the front lines of the information war as a military journalist in the Patriotic War and died as a result of Armenian terror after stepping on a mine near Susuzluq village in Kalbajar, was held at the Faculty of Journalism of Baku State University (BSU).
Samir Mirzayev, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations at the Faculty of Journalism, noted that such events play a significant role in the professional development of young journalists. He stated that the book covers the life and work of the martyr journalist.
Rizvan Nabiyev, a Member of the National Assembly and reviewer of the book, stated that the publication reflects not only the professional activities of martyr journalist Maharram Ibrahimov but also his loyalty to his homeland and profession. In his speech, he spoke about the importance of the 44-day Patriotic War in Azerbaijani history, emphasizing that the war was an embodiment of our Army's military prowess, as well as the national unity of our people and the sacrifices made by the press on both the front and home fronts.
The author of the book, journalist Asgar Alioglu, said that his brother Maharram Ibrahimov was a journalist deeply devoted to his profession and imbued with a patriotic spirit. He noted that Maharram Ibrahimov was dispatched to frontline areas from the first day of the Patriotic War, was constantly in hot spots, and fulfilled his duties as a military journalist appropriately. After the Patriotic War, Maharram Ibrahimov, together with his journalist colleagues, traveled village by village through our ancient lands devastated by Armenian vandals, documenting the destruction and turning it into history. Asgar Alioglu emphasized that "The Eternal Song of a Journalist's Life" was written over four years with the aim of bringing Maharram Ibrahimov's work to a wider audience.
Vugar Aliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, and Professor Gulu Maharramli, Head of the Department of Multimedia and Electronic Communication, shared their fond memories of Maharram Ibrahimov in their speeches. They spoke about the martyr journalist's diligence, perseverance, and human qualities, noting that his memory will always be cherished.
Finally, students' questions were answered. The author presented his signed book to the students.
