A new type of foldable OLED panel, without the visible crease that plagues all foldable phones on the market, was demonstrated by Samsung Display at CES. This could be the first look at the panel that will be used in Samsung's next-generation Galaxy foldable devices, and even in a foldable iPhone, considering Samsung Display has long been a supplier for Apple.
Redaksiya reports that when The Verge team visited the exhibition yesterday, the display unit had been removed from Samsung Display's CES showcase, but it was initially set up next to a Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable device for a side-by-side comparison. SamMobile saw it before the demo was removed and reports that the new panel "has no visible crease."
This new panel from Samsung Display signifies a significant advancement in the design of foldable phones. It can offer users a smoother and more pleasant visual experience, as the crease issue, often encountered in current foldable phones, is eliminated. This innovation could further strengthen Samsung's position in the foldable device market and create new opportunities for other manufacturers like Apple.
