South Korean technology giant Samsung is preparing to supply the latest M16 OLED panels for Apple and Google smartphones, which are expected to be unveiled later this year. This initiative is considered one of the latest innovations in the mobile industry and raises expectations.
According to information obtained from industry sources, the editorial office reports that M16 panels will be used in the Pixel 11 series, as well as in the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max models, and Apple's new foldable iPhone. This is Samsung's latest high-end material set, offering significant improvements in terms of brightness, color accuracy, longevity, and energy efficiency.
The previous generation M14 panels were first implemented in the iPhone 16 Pro models and subsequently included in the entire iPhone 17 series. Now, Apple is transitioning to M16 technology for its premium devices.
It is predicted that Samsung will use M16 in all OLED panels it supplies to Apple in the second half of the year. The estimated volume for iPhone 18 Pro models is 50 million units, and for foldable devices, it is approximately 10 million units. This new material set also promises higher value for suppliers like Samsung SDI, LG Chem, and Duksan Neolux, as Apple typically brings new technologies to lower-end models over time, which has the potential for further expansion in the future.
