Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Police Department for Water Transport continue their fight against poaching in the Caspian Sea, specifically in reserves, national parks, and water bodies within their service area.
According to information provided by the Lankaran regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Press Service, during subsequent measures carried out in this direction by employees of the Department's Lankaran Line Police Division, V. Ibadov and F. Gafarov, previously convicted, who were engaged in illegal fishing in the Small Bay water basin of Qızılağac National Park, were detained.
During the inspection, 65 fish of various species and fishing tools were seized from these individuals. An investigation is underway regarding both incidents.
With the aim of protecting aquatic bioresources and ensuring ecological balance, water police, together with relevant state agencies, continue control and preventive measures.
