Russian President Vladimir Putin stated within the framework of the SCO summit that the Ukraine crisis arose from the coup in Kyiv supported by the West, not from Russia's actions.
He expressed hope that the agreement reached in Alaska would pave the way for ensuring peace in Ukraine.
Putin also emphasized the necessity of eliminating the main causes of the crisis and restoring the security balance in the region.
