The editorial board reports that Putin recalled in his speech that Russia has historical experience in territorial transactions with the US, citing the sale of Alaska to the US in 1867 as an example. According to him, Alaska had an area of approximately 1.7 million square kilometers, and the sale carried out at that time is estimated to be worth around $158 million today.
Putin, drawing a comparison, stated that Greenland's territory is approximately 2.16 million square kilometers, and based on these figures, the potential value of Greenland could be around $200–250 million.
