A statement, created using "deepfake" technology and not reflecting reality, has been spread on several accounts on the "Facebook" social media platform in the name of the President of Azerbaijan.
This was reported by the Azerbaijan Media Development Agency (MEDIA).
It was noted that this disinformation, created with the help of artificial intelligence and aimed at misleading public opinion, intends to cause financial harm to citizens by obtaining their personal information:
"Recently, similar cyber fraud cases have been frequently encountered on the "Facebook" platform. In this regard, we call on "Meta", the owner of the "Facebook" platform, to take swift action to remove harmful content.
We urge society to believe only information from official sources, journalists and public activists to always demonstrate principled behavior against such cases, and to be vigilant in a situation where campaigns based on fake and false information and content creation with "deepfake" technologies are gaining momentum."
