President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree on the conscription of Azerbaijani citizens for fixed-term active military service and the discharge of fixed-term active military service personnel into the reserve from January 1 to 30, 2026.
According to the Decree, Azerbaijani citizens born in 2008 who have reached the age of 18 by the day of conscription (including that day), as well as those born between 1996 and 2007, who are under 30 years of age, who have not completed fixed-term active military service in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, who do not have the right to deferment from fixed-term active military service or are not exempt from conscription for fixed-term active military service, will be called up for fixed-term active military service from January 1 to 30, 2026.
Also, fixed-term active military service personnel who have completed their service period as stipulated in Article 38.1.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Military Duty and Military Service" will be discharged into the reserve from January 1 to 30, 2026.
The Cabinet of Ministers will take measures stipulated by legislation for the execution of this Decree.
