President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Zarif today.
The editorial reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have a long history, noting that the centuries-long coexistence of our peoples gives special importance to our relations. Expressing satisfaction with the recent intensification of relations, the head of state emphasized that the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to our country, as well as mutual visits by other high-ranking officials, contribute to the further expansion of our cooperation.
President Ilham Aliyev said that our bilateral agenda is extensive and covers many areas, and that there are specific roadmaps for all issues.
Highlighting the very successful operation of the intergovernmental commission, the head of state touched upon cooperation in economic, trade, transport, energy, and other fields.
The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the visit of the Iranian delegation will be successful and productive.
Seyed Abbas Zarif, thanking for the reception, first conveyed the greetings of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to the head of state. He noted that the head of state of Iran has great respect for President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijan. The guest said that after Masoud Pezeshkian was elected President of Iran, he gave instructions to further develop relations with our country.
