Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov has made serious accusations regarding freedom of speech and digital liberties in France. He emphasized that the country is not free in response to raids conducted by Paris prosecutors, Europol, and a cybercrime unit on the French offices of Elon Musk's X social network.
As reported by the editorial team, Pavel Durov shared on the X platform, stating, "Make no mistake: this is not a free country." According to him, France is the only country that persecutes all social networks that grant people a certain degree of freedom.
Durov specifically mentioned the Telegram, X, and TikTok platforms in this context. He stated that the legal and administrative pressures against these platforms raise concerns about the state of digital liberties in France.
The issue has come to the forefront against the backdrop of increasing surveillance measures against technology companies and social networks in France. The raids, carried out with the participation of Paris prosecutors, Europol, and a special cybercrime unit, have also sparked widespread discussions in the international community.
