Against the backdrop of recent events in Iran, a protest held in Paris has captured the attention of the international community. Demonstrators have taken to the streets to voice their opposition to the worsening situation in the country.
According to Euronews, citing Redaksiya, the demonstration, according to organizers, stretched from Place Victor Hugo to Place du Trocadéro and gathered 2,000 participants.
The majority of the protest participants carried flags of the Iranian monarchy prior to 1979, featuring symbols of a lion and sun. They chanted slogans supporting the return of the former royal family under the leadership of exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi. Israeli and US flags were also visible among the crowd. Protesters and speakers demanded increased international support as Iran entered its third week of unrest. Activists report that at least 203 people have been killed during the protests, though the number of casualties is believed to be higher. Due to internet restrictions in Iran, people abroad are concerned about a black regime that allows security forces to take violent measures with little oversight.
