Last year, 2,570.2 thousand foreign citizens and stateless persons visited Azerbaijan from 189 countries worldwide, a decrease of 2.1 percent compared to the previous year.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 23.9 percent of visitors were from the Russian Federation, 17.7 percent from Turkey, 8.1 percent from Iran, 6.5 percent from India, 4.3 percent from Georgia, 4.1 percent from Saudi Arabia, 4.0 percent from Kazakhstan, 3.5 percent from Pakistan, 2.7 percent from Israel, 2.5 percent from China, 2.4 percent from Uzbekistan, 1.7 percent from the United Arab Emirates, 1.4 percent from Ukraine, 1.3 percent from Turkmenistan, 1.0 percent each from Belarus, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait, and 12.9 percent were citizens of other countries. Men constituted 67.0 percent of visitors, and women made up 33.0 percent.
Compared to 2024, the number of visitors from Israel increased 2.4 times, from Tajikistan 1.6 times, from Jordan by 49.9 percent, from China by 41.7 percent, from Uzbekistan by 34.3 percent, from Kyrgyzstan by 33.7 percent, from the Netherlands by 27.5 percent, from Japan by 25.8 percent, from Kazakhstan by 20.1 percent, from Italy by 13.7 percent, from Pakistan by 12.5 percent, and from Germany by 11.1 percent.
Compared to 2024, the number of visitors from European Union member states increased by 7.0 percent to 120.1 thousand people, visitors from Gulf countries decreased by 2.4 percent to 414.8 thousand people, visitors from CIS countries decreased by 8.2 percent to 865.7 thousand people, while the number of visitors from other countries increased by 2.0 percent, totaling 1169.6 thousand people.
Of the foreign citizens and stateless persons visiting our country, 75.8 percent used air transport, 22.9 percent used rail and road transport, and 1.3 percent used sea transport.
Compared to 2024, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 2.3 percent to 2109.9 thousand people. The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Georgia increased by 20.4 percent, and to Iran by 9.2 percent, while the number traveling to the Russian Federation decreased by 31.5 percent, and to Turkey by 1.6 percent. 41.2 percent of Azerbaijani citizens traveled to Turkey, 14.5 percent to the Russian Federation, 10.7 percent to Georgia, 9.7 percent to Iran, and 23.9 percent to other countries. Men constituted 63.5 percent of those traveling abroad, and women made up 36.5 percent.
Last year, 69.6 percent of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 28.5 percent used rail and road transport, and 1.9 percent used sea transport.
