OpenAI has launched a new app catalog that expands the use of third-party tools within the ChatGPT platform. This move will allow users to benefit from various services without leaving the ChatGPT interface.

The editorial team reports that alongside the new app catalog, OpenAI has opened its software development kit for developers, creating conditions for building interactive experiences directly within ChatGPT. The company has replaced the concept of "connectors" with the term "apps" and introduced new naming conventions according to functionalities.

Initially, the catalog includes apps such as Apple Music and DoorDash. Through these apps, users can create playlists, manage their libraries, and convert recipes into shopping lists. The functionalities of the Spotify app have also been expanded in the UK, Switzerland, and European Union countries.

OpenAI management has stated that interactions with apps can be used to improve models, depending on user settings. The company's CEO, Sam Altman, has assessed this step as an important milestone towards ChatGPT becoming a fully functional platform.
