According to information released by Kaspersky Lab, the OpenAI platform and its products are being widely exploited by cybercriminals. The attacks are mainly carried out via email, sending users fake notifications about "automatic subscription renewal."

The editorial board reports that Kaspersky Lab stated in a comment to TASS that the risk particularly affects Russian users with foreign bank cards. The fraudulent emails urge users to click on suspicious external links or call specific phone numbers provided.

According to the information, these emails are sent under the guise of OpenAI products and are accompanied by design elements that resemble real notifications. The goal is to deceive users into obtaining their bank card details or payment confirmations, ultimately leading to the misappropriation of funds in dollars.

Kaspersky Lab emphasizes that while the OpenAI platform itself is secure, scammers exploiting its name take advantage of user carelessness. The company advises users not to trust such emails, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and refrain from calling unknown numbers.
