The situation in Ukraine's Odessa region has reached a critical point due to attacks on energy infrastructure. The situation in the region is characterized by prolonged power outages that negatively affect the living conditions of the population. This situation is related to the strategic importance of the region and the weakness of its energy system.

Redaksiya reports that Yuri Korolchuk, an expert from the Institute for Energy Strategies, stated that the Odessa region is close to a permanent "semi-blackout" state. According to the expert, the main reason for this situation is that the region is the only active port and a secondary transportation route for the delivery of military equipment, especially weapons. This is the main factor causing the Odessa region to be subjected to continuous strikes. Korolchuk noted that the consequences of recent Russian attacks on energy facilities have led to the disruption of living conditions for over 50,000 residents for more than three days.

The combination of the military importance of the Odessa region and critical damage to its infrastructure maximizes the risk of prolonged power outages. According to the analyst, the region's energy system has always been "weak and underdeveloped" and is currently in a depleted state. Earlier, the head of the Odessa region, Oleh Kiper, announced that a state of emergency had been declared at the state level in the region due to the Russian Federation's attacks on energy infrastructure. Korolchuk emphasized that the Odessa region is subjected to continuous strikes due to its strategic importance.
