On the initiative of Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and within the framework of cooperation between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan, free legal aid services were provided on January 16, 2026, in the Nizami District of Baku city to vulnerable groups of citizens in need of legal assistance, families of martyrs, veterans, minors, and low-income families.
Speaking at the event, Konul Nurullayeva, elected as a Member of Parliament from the 24th Nizami First Constituency, Konul Hasanova, First Deputy Head of the Nizami District Executive Power, and Ramil Valibeyov, Chairman of the Nizami District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, stated that the purpose of holding the event is to provide free legal aid services to families of martyrs, veterans, minors, and low-income families. It was noted that by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 28.12.2024, 2025 was declared the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and this event is being held in the Nizami District as a continuation of those measures. It was highlighted that the legal reforms implemented in our country under the leadership of the head of state create conditions for ensuring human and civil rights and freedoms at a high level.
Speaking on behalf of the elders of the Nizami district, Edilman Mammadov, and Vusala Aliyeva, the wife of the Hero of the Patriotic War, martyr Anar Aliyev, emphasized that this event is a noble initiative and is very important in terms of supporting the most vulnerable segments of society and hearing their voices.
A total of 42 people participated in the event, and 36 of them received legal assistance.
