Co-organized by TƏBİB, the Azerbaijan Society of Internal Medicine, and the Federation of Nephrology of Turkic States, the "II National Congress of the Azerbaijan Society of Internal Medicine and the I Congress of the Federation of Nephrology of Turkic States" has successfully concluded.
The main objective of the congress is to discuss the latest scientific innovations in internal medicine and nephrology, share advanced clinical practices, and expand international cooperation.
The event was attended by renowned medical specialists from the country, chief nephrologists from Turkic states, prominent professors and scientists, as well as the President of the European Federation of Internal Medicine, the new head of the European Renal Association, and influential specialists invited from the USA and Japan.
At the opening ceremony of the congress, Barat Yusubov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Internal Medicine, Ramik Qliyev, Deputy Head of the Medical Control Department of the Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health, Rashad Mahmudov, Deputy Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), Teymur Mirzabayli, Head of the Medical Activity Organization Department of TƏBİB, Prof. Dr. Fredrik Von Wowern, President of the European Federation of Internal Medicine, renowned Turkish professor in nephrology Mehmet Şükrü Sever, and Professor Südeyf Imamverdiyev delivered speeches.
At the opening ceremony of the congress, Barat Yusubov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Internal Medicine, delivered a speech, specifically emphasizing the importance of the event. He stated that such international congresses are not limited to sharing scientific knowledge but also significantly contribute to establishing professional connections among specialists from various countries, expanding experience exchange, and forming unified approaches in the healthcare sector.
In his speech, Ramik Qliyev, Deputy Head of the Medical Control Department of the Analytical Expertise Center of the Ministry of Health, spoke about the work done to raise quality standards and improve medical services in the healthcare system.
Rashad Mahmudov, Deputy Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), highlighted the importance of healthcare reforms implemented in the country and stated that such scientific platforms play a crucial role in the exchange of knowledge and experience.
In his speech, Teymur Mirzabayli, Head of the Medical Activity Organization Department of TƏBİB, emphasized the work being carried out in organizing medical services, implementing modern approaches, and increasing patient satisfaction.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Fredrik Von Wowern highlighted the importance of sharing international experience and drew attention to the necessity of joint efforts against global healthcare challenges.
Professor Mehmet Şükrü Sever shared his views on modern treatment methods for kidney diseases and the prospects for regional cooperation in this field.
In his speech, Professor Südeyf Imamverdiyev emphasized the importance of integrating scientific innovations into practical healthcare and noted that such congresses make a significant contribution to knowledge exchange among specialists.
Parallel sessions covering various specialized fields were organized within the framework of the event. The scientific program covered a wide range of topics, from cardiovascular diseases to metabolic disorders, rheumatological and infectious diseases to endocrinological problems. Discussions were also held on modern treatment approaches for kidney diseases, dialysis and transplantation opportunities, genetic tests, and innovative technologies in the field of nephrology.
Within the framework of the congress, discussions were held on current topics such as heart failure, arrhythmias and management of cardiovascular risks, modern approaches to diabetes and its complications, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, respiratory system and infectious diseases, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in medicine.
The event also served as an important platform for experience exchange for young doctors and residents. Sessions held with the participation of international experts made a significant contribution to the application of modern medical knowledge in practical healthcare.
At the conclusion of the congress, a competition titled "Young Nephrologists: Presentation of Challenging Clinical Cases" was held among resident doctors. Within the framework of the competition, participants demonstrated their knowledge and skills by presenting complex clinical cases. The presentations were evaluated by the jury, and a winner was determined. The winners were awarded and honored by the jury.
