On September 8, the opening ceremony of a football pitch built within the framework of the “FIFA Arena” project at Baku City Full School No. 247 was held.
The event was attended by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, President of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan Rovshan Najaf, President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Shevchenko, representatives of the football community, and schoolchildren.
During the speeches, it was particularly emphasized that such projects are of great importance for the healthy development of schoolchildren, the formation of a sports culture, and the popularization of football. During the event, a video message from FIFA President Gianni Infantino regarding the successful implementation of the project was also broadcast.
It should be noted that AFFA is among the first 11 countries in the world to complete the “FIFA Arena” project. The national association has built pitches in 2 schools (Baku City Full Secondary Schools No. 138 and No. 247), and more than 6,000 students will directly benefit from this project.
