NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that Ukraine's strong defense has inflicted serious losses on the Russian army. According to him, the Russian side is facing significant human losses in the current battles.
The editorial board reports that Rutte said during his speech that between 20,000 and 25,000 Russian soldiers are killed in just one month. He specifically emphasized that these figures only cover fatalities, and those severely wounded are not included in the statistics.
The NATO leader compared the current situation to the Soviet Union's war in Afghanistan in the 1980s. According to him, approximately 20,000 soldiers were lost in that war over ten years, whereas now such losses are occurring within a single month, a situation that cannot be considered sustainable for Russia.
