Media plays an important role in protecting the language.
The editorial office reports that Natiq Mammadli, Deputy Executive Director of the Media Development Agency (MEDIA), said this in a statement to journalists.
According to him, at the event held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, President Ilham Aliyev voiced a number of conceptual ideas regarding the Azerbaijani language and called on civil servants, and especially journalists, to preserve and perpetuate the purity of the Azerbaijani language:
"We believe that Mr. President's call regarding the state language is timely, and we must organize our work in this direction. The Azerbaijani language is not just a means of daily communication; it is a rich language capable of expressing philosophical, scientific, and journalistic ideas at a high level. Precisely for this reason, media plays an important role in protecting the language. Because the Azerbaijani language is primarily in active use specifically in the media. This places a great responsibility on journalists."
N. Mammadli emphasized that the Azerbaijani language should be kept away from foreign influences and properly conveyed to future generations. ("Report")
