The "Independence History" camp, held from August 18-22 within the framework of "Yay Fest," Azerbaijan's largest youth festival organized in Shamakhi amidst nature as part of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty," has successfully concluded.
The editorial office reports that this week, 250 young people from various regions of the republic gathered for five days, experiencing an unforgettable camp. The main objective of the camp was to deeply educate young people about the heroic struggle of the Azerbaijani people for independence and justice, instill in them patriotism and loyalty to statehood principles, and enhance their necessary knowledge and skills to develop as future leaders.
The camp's program, organized in a tent format, included meetings, interactive activities, motivational sessions, and team games aimed at instilling the history of our state's independence in young people and fostering a youth committed to national statehood values. All organized activities conveyed to the participating youth that their patriotism, talent, and initiatives play an invaluable role in preserving our greatest asset, independence, and in the development of our country, directly influencing its future.
During the camp, a meeting titled "In the Frames of History" with photojournalist Rasim Sadikhov, a living witness to the January 20 events, allowed young people to more deeply feel the essence of the historical events on the path to independence and the significance of the sacrifices made for national freedom. Participants had the opportunity to deeply learn about Azerbaijan's history of independence and sovereignty through rare photographs and personal observations.
Additionally, panel discussions on "Technological Development: Unlimited Potential" and "Secrets of the Brain," interactive activities such as yoga classes, a mini canvas painting masterclass, airsoft training, an intellectual game, and a karate masterclass aimed to support the personal and professional development of young people, enhance their creativity, and strengthen their spirit of motivation. At the same time, a flashmob was held during the camp, where participants brought to life the dove symbol, representing peace.
The concert program, musical competitions, and heartfelt conversations around the campfire organized at the end of each day became sweet youth memories for the young people.
Within the framework of "Yay Fest 2025," which will continue until August 29, a total of 8 consecutive camps will be organized with the participation of over 2000 young people on the themes of "National-Moral Values," "Solidarity," "Humanism," "Justice and Law," "Development," "Patriotism," "History of Independence," and "Victorious Diplomacy."
