A delegation led by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov, has departed for the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Media and Communications Department of the Central Election Commission Secretariat informed Redaksiya that the visit, made at the invitation of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Abdirov, is primarily aimed at observing the referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution in Kazakhstan, scheduled for March 15.
In accordance with the visit program, bilateral meetings are planned between the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan and his Kazakh counterpart, as well as with the heads of organizations and electoral management bodies of foreign countries participating in election observation. During the meetings, it is planned to exchange views on the development prospects of inter-institutional relations, expanding cooperation opportunities in various fields related to elections, and other issues of mutual interest.
The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan is also represented in the observation of the referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution in Kazakhstan within the framework of various international organizations. Specifically, other representatives of the Commission are participating in the observation of the aforementioned referendum as international observers within the missions of the Organization of Turkic States, the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
On election day, the representatives of the Central Election Commission will observe the referendum process at polling stations located in the capital city of Astana.
