In response to US President Donald Trump's ultimatum-like statement regarding Russia making a decision within 50 days, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev issued a statement on the social network "X".
The editorial office reports that Medvedev responded to Trump's rhetoric as follows:
“Trump is playing an ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days, or 10… I would just like to remind him of two things:
- Russia is neither Israel nor Iran.
- Every new ultimatum is a threat, and this is a step towards war not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Let 'Sleepy Joe' (Joe Biden) not follow his path!”
This statement quickly attracted the attention of international media and led to comments that tensions in Russia-US relations have entered a new phase. Trump, after these remarks by Medvedev, declared that he had directed two strategic nuclear submarines to critical regions.
