Meeting held with a delegation from the Republic of Romania at the Media Development Agency

On August 25, a meeting was held at the Media Development Agency with a delegation led by Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș, Chairman of the Culture and Media Committee of the Romanian Senate and member of the Romania-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, with the participation of Qudsi Osmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Romania.

During the meeting, Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, noted the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania in various fields and drew attention to the importance of expanding partnership in the media sector. He also spoke about the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Media" and a number of issues arising from it, as well as measures taken to increase media literacy, and emphasized the importance of consumers analyzing mass information.

Ismat Sattarov, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council, highlighted the existing international cooperation in the audiovisual media sector, stating that experience exchange and the implementation of joint projects in this direction are essential. He noted that the audiovisual media environment in Azerbaijan is gaining new significance, and sharing experience with foreign partners makes an exceptional contribution to improving content quality.

Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș, Chairman of the Culture and Media Committee of the Romanian Senate and member of the Romania-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, stated that promoting the exchange of experience and resources between the parties, as well as joint initiatives in combating disinformation and increasing media literacy, are of great importance, and that organizing mutual visits and media tours will further strengthen the partnership.
