A statement, prepared using "deep fake" technologies and reflecting no reality, has been disseminated on a number of social media accounts in the name of Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs, allegedly regarding the downing of a Belarusian plane in Russian airspace.
This was stated in the announcement of the Media Development Agency (MEDİA).
MEDİA notes that these fake video images, created with the application of artificial intelligence, are an example of crude information manipulation aimed at misleading public opinion:
"We call on society to believe only the information provided by official sources and to obtain information expressing the official position of the state from the country's information agencies and other professional media entities. We urge Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to always show principledness against such incidents and to be vigilant in a situation where campaigns based on fake and false information and the trend of content creation with "deep fake" technologies are gaining momentum."
