Manat-denominated Term Credit Placements Increased

As of March 1 this year, the total amount of term credit placements by credit institutions in Azerbaijan reached 32.002 billion manats, while the volume of overdue loans amounted to 562 million manats.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, 27.7 billion manats of the total credit placements consisted of loans in national currency.

Of the loans in national currency, 462.5 million manats were overdue.

During the reporting period, 4.332 billion manats of the total credit placements were loans issued in foreign currency, of which 99.5 million manats were overdue.

Compared to the same period last year, as of March 1, 2026, loans placed in national currency increased by 2.615 billion manats or 10.4%, while loans placed in foreign currency decreased by 15.8 million manats or 0.4%.

During the reporting period, 4.458 billion manats of the total loans in national currency were short-term, and 23.213 billion manats were long-term loans. For loans in foreign currency, 1.315 billion manats were short-term, and 3.017 billion manats were long-term loans.
