An extensive special operation has been conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada, concerning the discovery of an illegal biological laboratory in a residential home. Law enforcement and emergency service agencies have begun security and neutralization measures that are expected to last for several days.
The newsroom reports that on January 31, the SWAT unit of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), HAZMAT teams for chemical safety, and other agencies executed a search warrant at a residence located on Sugar Spring Drive in Northeast Las Vegas. In addition to this address, situated near Washington Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard, a second property on Temple View Drive was also inspected.
During the search, traces of a potential biological laboratory were primarily found in a locked garage. Discoveries included refrigerators storing vials filled with unknown liquids, suspected biological materials and hazardous substances, as well as containers marked with names of pathogens such as dengue fever, HIV, and malaria. Highly specialized teams are engaged in the collection and neutralization of these materials, and it is reported that the measures will continue for days to ensure public safety.
Initially, one person was detained during the operation, and it was later announced that 55-year-old Ori Solomon had been arrested. The owner of the residence is linked to Cia Bei Ju (also known as David He), who was placed under federal supervision in 2023 in connection with an illegal biological laboratory case in Ridley, California. That case involved illegal activities through companies Prestij Biotech and Universal Meditek, mislabeled COVID-19 test kits, and the storage of HIV, COVID, and other dangerous pathogens.
According to information, the laboratory discovered in Las Vegas is directly linked to the illegal biolaboratory case exposed in Ridley in 2022-2023. Currently, over 1,000 collected samples have been sent for laboratory analysis, and the investigation is being continued by federal and local authorities.
