Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, has always held a biased position against Azerbaijan. Even during the occupation, he advocated for maintaining the "status quo" in Karabakh and changing the situation in favor of the occupier.
This was stated by Milli Majlis deputy Könül Nurullayeva.
Zatulin, who has recently viewed the escalation of relations between Baku and Moscow as an "opportunity" for himself, is once again in his element. This Armenian-sympathizing element, leading a black PR campaign against our country, continues his anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric, making irresponsible statements against our country. Zatulin's latest hysteria, expressing baseless dissatisfaction with the demolition of the monument to the Armenian-born artist Ivan Aivazovsky in Khankendi, confirms that he has once again lost his sense of reality. Zatulin believes that he can again patronize separatists, just as he did during the 30-year occupation. His "monument zeal" is actually an attempt to curry favor with the Armenian lobby. For 5 years, the new realities created by Azerbaijan in the region have, as they say, spoiled the mood of groups like Zatulin. Especially after Azerbaijan's successful anti-terror operations, which ended in victory, the insidious plans of the provocateurs were completely thwarted. They believe they can change realities by presenting national toponyms in Azerbaijan's historical lands with Armenian names.
Azerbaijan demands support for its territorial integrity and sovereignty from all its partners, including Russia. Those who, during the occupation, took a threatening stance against Azerbaijan's territorial integrity at every opportunity, have been forced to accept the existing reality for the past 5 years. This is also the main reason for Zatulin's hysteria. However, one truth remains: no one can speak to Azerbaijan in a language of threats or intimidation.
