The epicenter of the event was located in the Pacific Ocean, 114 kilometers from the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky urban district. No evacuation was carried out among the population.
The editorial office reports that the governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, announced that a tsunami threat had been declared. According to him, a wave up to 0.5 meters high is predicted to approach Paramushir and Shumshu islands, which belong to the North Kuril district.
