Within the European framework, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has responded to sanctions imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Greenland. In a statement shared on social media platform X, he stressed that Sweden will not accept pressure and blackmail.
The editorial informs that according to Ulf Kristersson, only the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland can decide matters concerning Denmark and Greenland. He noted that he will always defend the interests of both his country and its allied neighbors.
The Prime Minister stated that the issue should be assessed not just as a problem affecting individual states, but the European Union as a whole. According to him, Sweden is currently conducting intensive consultations to form a coordinated stance with other EU countries, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
Kristersson added that a joint and coordinated response on issues related to Europe's security and sovereignty is of particular importance, and diplomatic efforts in this direction will continue.
