A new decision has been made regarding Islam Rzayev, the former head of Balakən, who is accused of corruption offenses.
The State Security Service (SSS) submitted a petition to the court for the extension of the preliminary investigation in the criminal case.
The petition emphasized the necessity of continuing the detention of the accused person.
The Sabail District Court found the petition justified. According to the decision, Islam Rzayev's detention period has been extended by another 3 months.

It should be noted that the SSS conducted an operation at the Executive Power of Balakən District in October 2025.
