The Azerbaijan Literature Fund continues the execution of the “Western Azerbaijan in Works” project.
Within the framework of the project, a novel titled “No Carpet Left in Yerevan” is being prepared for publication. The head of the Fund, writer Varis Yolchuyev, stated that the novel is dedicated to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Tsarist Russia in the early 19th century.
Important historical archival materials have been used in the novel. The work expresses, in a high artistic-aesthetic language, the consequences of this occupation, exemplified by the Yerevan Khanate, which led to material and moral deprivations, particularly the process of Tsarist Russia creating an Armenian state at the expense of Azerbaijan's historical lands. The catastrophe born from this national tragedy is depicted against the backdrop of the arduous life story of two young lovers, Ulukhan and Seljan.
The book is intended for a wide readership.
The donor of the project is the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations.
