The commander of the naval forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, announced that they are ready to close the Strait of Hormuz if ordered by the country's leadership.

The editorial reports that Admiral Tangsiri emphasized that as soldiers, they are ready to carry out this order. According to him, if such a decision is made, the military forces will act immediately.

The Strait of Hormuz is a passage of strategic importance for international trade. Approximately 20% of the world's oil and 30% of global liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments transit through this strait. Taking such a step could lead to serious consequences in global energy markets.
