The issue of protecting personal data on the internet is becoming increasingly relevant, and new steps are being taken in this area. One of the steps taken to protect user data is the enhanced tracking and fingerprinting protection feature introduced in iOS 26.

Redaksiya reports that this feature is available in the "Safari" browser, preventing trackers from creating a digital "fingerprint" about users by hiding users' browser and device information. A fingerprint is a profile that companies use to track your movements on web pages. This profile may consist of information such as your device's IP address, the device itself, your browser, fonts, plugins, and your screen resolution. This information comes together to create a unique picture of you.

This feature was also available on "iPhone" devices before iOS 26, but it was only active by default in private browsing mode. In the new version, this protection is active for all browsing. After updating your "iPhone", "iPad", or "Mac" device to the latest operating system, your browsing will automatically have this enhanced tracking protection. To check if this feature is active, go to "Settings" on your "iPhone" or "iPad", then "Safari" and "Advanced". On your "Mac" device, open "Safari", press "Command + ,", and select "Advanced". Here, ensure that "Enhanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection" is set to "All Browsing" (iOS/iPadOS) or "in all browsing" (macOS).
